Being Resourceful Pt 6

Hello Friends! We might be done talking about success, but every successful person knows that success is not the ultimate. It might bring you happiness, but you're always looking for some bigger goal to make you happier. That's why goal getting as a recipe for happiness, is a poor man's way; it leaves you exhausted and desperate.

The Selfish Chemical

Our body releases dopamine everytime we achieve a milestone/goal, as a way to reward us. But the danger is that, it can become addictive, if we lack self discipline. That's why, you need to decide to be HAPPY/CONTENT from the little things, like greeting your neighbours and co-workers when you meet them in the morning, smiling everytime you meet a stranger or hugging your spouse everytime you return from work. Remember, success is not some big unexpected event, it's a compounding effect of small and expanding disciplines.

The Ultimate

Now, what is the ultimate? SERVICE! You should be pursuing your passions and dreams in the service of other people. Success might elicit happiness, but service generates FULFILMENT. Success might give you riches, but service makes you WEALTHY. There is a quote from Zig Ziglar, which says, if you help enough people get what they need, you can have everything you need.

A Better Way

Don't try to be as rich as you possibly can, but rather, try to be as wealthy as you possibly can, because the rich have an expensive life, but the wealthy have moved beyond their expenses. The rich focus on possessions, hence they draw their importance from them, but the wealthy focus on people, hence draw their importance from meeting the needs of people. When you're in the business of creating value for people, you can NEVER be poor.

Serve The World

Now, there are people who are just serving their neighbourhood; some their town, city, and others their nation. But, how fulfilling will it be, if you were serving the whole world? Also, how wealthy would you need to be, in order to do that? A PERSONAL response to both questions, will make you the most enviable person in all of human history.
